Three Thousand Global Leaders Back Iran’s Democratic Alternative

Following extensive outreach by Iranian communities and supporters across Europe and beyond, more than 3,000 international dignitaries from 55 countries have signed a joint declaration calling for an immediate halt to executions in Iran and expressing support for the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations.

The signatories—including former presidents, prime ministers, ministers, parliamentarians, Nobel laureates, diplomats, and human rights advocates—warn that Iran is at a historic turning point and urge the international community to take immediate action against the regime’s escalating political repression.

The declaration condemns the recent surge in political executions, mass arrests, and internet blackouts, stating that Tehran is exploiting the current regional crisis to intensify its crackdown on dissent and prevent further nationwide protests.

The signatories call on the United Nations and its member states to act urgently to stop political executions and hold the Iranian regime accountable for its human rights violations.

The statement also affirms that democratic change in Iran must be achieved by the Iranian people and their organized resistance, rejecting both the current religious dictatorship and any return to monarchical rule.

In addition, the declaration endorses the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) transition plan, based on Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan, which envisions a secular, democratic republic founded on free elections, gender equality, separation of religion and state, abolition of the death penalty, and a non-nuclear Iran.

The growing international support reflects a broad consensus among global leaders in backing the Iranian people’s right to determine their own democratic future.
