Statement of Solidarity by more than 260 Organizations

More Than 260 Organizations Worldwide Back “Iran: No to Executions, Yes to Peace and Freedom”

On the eve of the #100KFreeIranRally in Paris, more than 260 organizations from across the world—including trade unions, parliamentary groups, legal associations, human rights organizations, and civil society networks—issued a joint statement expressing solidarity with the Iranian people and support for the rally’s message: “Iran: No to Executions, Yes to Peace and Freedom.”

The signatories emphasized that the solution to Iran’s ongoing crisis lies neither in war nor in appeasement, but in supporting the Iranian people’s struggle for a democratic republic based on freedom, human rights, gender equality, secular governance, and the abolition of the death penalty.

The statement, released on June 20, 2026, commemorates the anniversary of the June 20, 1981 demonstration, honoring political prisoners and the tens of thousands of victims of executions in Iran. It reaffirms support for the Iranian people’s rejection of all forms of dictatorship—whether under the Shah or the current theocratic regime.

The organizations also voiced support for the democratic opposition coalition’s efforts to establish a provisional government founded on democratic principles, highlighting commitments to human rights, pluralism, separation of religion and state, gender equality, an independent judiciary, a non-nuclear Iran, peaceful coexistence, and the abolition of the death penalty.

The joint declaration reflects growing international civil society support for the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom, democracy, and an end to executions.

Statement of Solidarity with the Grand Rally in Paris for a Free Iran

JUNE 20, 2026

Iran: No to Executions, Yes to Peace and Freedom

We, the undersigned, on the eve of the 45th anniversary of the June 20, 1981 demonstration—marking the Day of political prisoners and victims of executions in Iran—express our full support for the “Iran: No to Executions, Yes to Peace and Freedom” demonstration in Paris, France. We endorse this initiative as an act of solidarity with the people of Iran.

This march pays tribute to tens of thousands of Iranians fallen on the path to freedom and democracy and responds to the people’s genuine demands, who have stood for years against repression, human rights violations, and injustice.

We believe that the solution to Iran’s crisis lies neither in war nor in the policy of appeasement with mullahs, but in supporting the will of the Iranian people for achieving a democratic republic, rejecting any form of dictatorship, be it the Shah or the mullahs.

We also express our support for the efforts of the democratic opposition coalition, including the initiative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran to form a provisional government based on its Ten-Point Plan—an initiative endorsed by more than 4,000 parliamentarians and 125 former world leaders.

This plan includes principles such as human rights, freedom, a democratic republic with separation of religion and state, pluralism, gender equality, abolition of the death penalty, rejection of discrimination, a non-nuclear Iran, an independent judiciary, and peaceful coexistence.
