Gothenburg, Sweden — September 15, 2026: The Iranian Community in Gothenburg held a rally in solidarity with the 138th consecutive week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, in which prisoners in 62 prisons across Iran protest executions and repression.
Participants condemned the growing use of death sentences against political prisoners and protesters, chanting “Down with the executioner regime” and calling for the immediate release of political prisoners, urgent international action to prevent executions, and to hold Iranian authorities accountable for human rights violations.
The demonstrators reaffirmed their support for a democratic republic in Iran, rejecting both religious dictatorship and monarchy. They also expressed solidarity with the Iranian Resistance and the MEK Resistance Units in their struggle for freedom and justice.
