On June 20, 2026, more than 100,000 members of Iranian communities and supporters of human rights are expected to gather at Place Vauban in Paris for one of the largest demonstrations in support of a free Iran ever held in Europe. Organized under the banners of #100KFreeIranRally and #ParisFreeIranRally, the event will unite voices from around the world to condemn the alarming surge in executions in Iran and to support the Iranian people’s right to freedom, democracy, and justice.
The rally coincides with the anniversary of the beginning of Iran’s nationwide resistance against religious dictatorship, a day commemorated by many Iranians as the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners. Participants will honor those who have sacrificed their lives in the struggle for freedom while drawing international attention to the regime’s ongoing campaign of repression.
Executions as a Tool of Repression
The gathering comes amid growing international concern over the dramatic increase in executions across Iran. Human rights organizations have documented a sharp rise in death sentences and executions, including against political prisoners and dissidents. Activists warn that the Iranian authorities are increasingly relying on executions and arbitrary detentions to silence dissent and intimidate a population that continues to demand fundamental rights and freedoms.
Many young protesters, students, women activists, and political prisoners remain behind bars, while families across Iran continue to seek information about detained loved ones. The use of the death penalty as a political instrument has intensified calls for stronger international action and accountability.
No to Executions, Yes to Freedom and Democracy
For participants in Paris, opposition to executions is inseparable from support for the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations. The rally will amplify a clear message: the people of Iran deserve a future based on freedom, human rights, equality, and the rule of law.
APA ICE and other participating organizations believe that lasting peace and stability can only be achieved by standing with the Iranian people and supporting their right to determine their own future. The movement rejects all forms of dictatorship and advocates a democratic republic founded on free elections, gender equality, separation of religion and state, respect for human rights, and the abolition of the death penalty.
International Solidarity for the Iranian People
Lawmakers, former government officials, human rights defenders, women’s rights advocates, and civil society leaders from across Europe, North America, and beyond are expected to join the rally in solidarity with the Iranian people.
The June 20 gathering will serve as a powerful reminder that the victims of executions and repression in Iran are not forgotten. It will also demonstrate growing international support for justice, accountability, and a democratic future in Iran.
As executions continue and political prisoners remain at risk, Paris will become a platform for a united global call: stop executions in Iran, free political prisoners, and stand with the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy.
