Second Free Iran World Summit 2025 – May 31, 2025

The Second Free Iran World Summit 2025 convened lawmakers, former heads of state, trade unionists, human rights defenders, and youth leaders from across the world in a united call for democratic regime change in Iran. The event featured over 60 speakers whose remarks underscored rising international consensus on supporting the Iranian people and rejecting both monarchy and theocracy. They presented the achievement of majority parliamentary support on the Ten-Point Plan for the future of Iran in the Italian Parliament, the Dutch Senate, the Norwegian Parliament, the Icelandic Parliament, as well as in Moldova and Costa Rica, along with significant parliamentary backing from Germany.

Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, opened the conference by declaring: “The regime is now facing a tsunami of internal crisis, political turmoil, widespread public discontent, and deepening economic and social challenges.” She emphasized that regime change is the only solution to the clerical regime’s nuclear threat, and that the NCRI’s Ten-Point Plan represents a realistic and democratic alternative. “The freedom of Iran is the guarantee of peace in the region and security for the world,” she concluded.

Among the speakers of the conference were Lars Rise, former Norwegian MP; Carsten Müller and Serdar Yüksel, German MPs; Naike Gruppioni and Emanuele Pozzolo, Italian MPs; Gianna Gancia, Member of the Piemonte State Parliament; Geir Haarde, former Prime Minister of Iceland; Ola Elvestuen and Rasmus Hansson, Norwegian MPs; Nina Hansson, Norwegian journalist and trade unionist; Baroness Sandip Verma and Lord Steve McCabe, UK House of Lords; Senator Kees de Lange, former Dutch Senator; Derk Jan Eppink, former Dutch MEP and MP; Stefanie Bung and Christian Calderone, German State Parliamentarians; Dilja Mist Einarsdottir, Icelandic MP; Leo Dautzenberg and Nadine Ruf, former German MPs; Thomas Lutze, former German MP; Ben Oni Ardelean, former Romanian MP; Sir Alan Meale, Sir David Crosby, and Struan Stevenson, former UK parliamentarians; Paulo Casaca, former Portuguese MEP; John Paul Phelan and Jim Higgins, former Irish officials; Italian Senators Roberto Rampi and Antonio Razzi; Mario Galea, former Maltese Minister; and a delegation of Iranian youth and professionals.

Numerous lawmakers, former ministers, and civil society leaders from across Europe and beyond echoed Rajavi’s message, offering strong endorsements of the NCRI’s Ten-Point Plan as a democratic and viable alternative to both monarchy and theocracy. Speakers praised the courage of Iran’s Resistance Units and striking workers, condemned the regime’s escalating executions, and urged international recognition of the NCRI as the legitimate voice of Iran’s democratic future. Calls were made for the IRGC to be blacklisted, for snapback sanctions, and for a special tribunal to prosecute crimes against humanity. Many highlighted the central role of Iranian women and youth in leading the resistance and drew parallels with past struggles for freedom in their own countries. Voices from inside the Iranian diaspora, the professionals and youth delegations from the Iranian communities in Europe testified to personal loss, resilience, and an unshakable commitment to freedom. Together, the participants emphasized that appeasement must end, international solidarity must grow, and Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan offers the clearest path forward to a secular, democratic, and non-nuclear Iran.
