Geneva, Switzerland — April 26, 2025 — A rally held in Nations Square outside the United Nations headquarters in Geneva drew public attention to the alarming human rights situation in Iran, particularly the plight of political prisoners facing execution.
According to Iran Human Rights Monitor (Iran HRM), the request for a judicial review (appeal for retrial) for political prisoner Behrouz Ehsani has been officially rejected. This decision follows the earlier rejection of a similar appeal by Mehdi Hassani. With these denials, both men now face immediate danger of execution.
The event featured visual installations, posters, and eyewitness accounts, spotlighting the broader pattern of repression in Iran, particularly the use of the death penalty against dissidents. Attendees were invited to join advocacy efforts, including petition-signing and social media campaigns aimed at drawing international attention.
