“Academics in Exile” Exhibition in Sheffield on Iran’s Human Rights Violations

Sheffield, UK – January 14, 2025: Members of the Academics in Exile Association hosted a thought-provoking book and photo exhibition to protest the Iranian regime’s death sentences against political prisoners.

The exhibition condemned the regime’s ongoing human rights abuses and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people’s fight for freedom. It spotlighted the dire conditions faced by political prisoners and demanded their immediate release.

Organizers called on the UK government to officially designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and to shut down the Iranian regime’s embassy in London, which they described as a hub for espionage and terror operations.

The event also underscored the necessity of international action against the Iranian regime, including stricter sanctions, prosecution of its leaders for crimes against humanity, and recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist tyranny.

The exhibition resonated deeply with the local community in Sheffield, drawing a diverse audience and strengthening calls for justice and support for a free and democratic Iran.
