As the number of executions rise in Iran, the campaign to put an end to death penalty in Iran spreads across Europe and North America.
According to reports from inside Iran, at least 30 prisoners were executed in only one week from October 22, 2024. This is while the campaign launched by prisoners to end executions in Iran has entered its 40th week. They have been holding hunger strikes on every Tuesday until the death penalty is abolished.
In support of the prisoners’ campaign, Iranian communities have been holding street rallies, exhibitions and book stalls in various cities including London and Sheffield in England; Copenhagen and Aarhus in Denmark; Zurich and Bern in Switzerland; Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö in Sweden; Bucharest, Romania; Berlin, Hamburg and Heidelberg in Germany; Ottawa and Toronto in Canada; Paris and Strasbourg in France. Their activities received widespread support from the public where many pledged to take actions on various levels and be the voice of the Iranian communities in exile and the oppressed prisoners in Iran.
