Iranian communities around the world continue holding public rallies, exhibitions and book stalls in major cities to drawn attention to the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran. High number of executions has alarmed human rights organizations and bodies watching the situation. Mai Sato, the newly appointed Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in her X post on the occasion of the World Day Against the Death Penalty, that since January 2024 over 500 people have been executed in Iran. While expressing her grave concern, she appealed to international community to amplify the voices of those campaigning to end capital punishment
