Pandli Majko – Former Prime Minister of Albania
On June 27, a grand gathering of Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance from 69 countries across the globe was held at the Villepinte Exposition in Paris with the participation of 600 political dignitaries, legislators and jurists from a wide spectrum of political tendencies. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance and the keynote speaker.
My dear friends, Iranian brothers and sisters, two years ago we have been here in such a podium only two people. If you see the video, I finished my short speech saying that next time we Albanians will come in front of you with 22 people. But it looks that we have passed the borders of our promises. Here you don’t have only politicians, Member of Parliament, but you have doctors, professors, lawyers, people that consider Iranians that have come in our country like part of our family.
Dear Madame Rajavi, when I came for the first time to your event I was very afraid. Half of my colleagues told me where are you going? Mujahidin are terrorists. And of course I have come with idea that terrorists can’t organize such meetings in the middle of Paris. After step by step I have made a lot of friends.
Whether you want it or not, you have involved us in your story, in your drama, in your tragedies, and we understand you very well. This is the reason that we have come all together in front of you. Some years ago in the middle of the Cold War, American President Kennedy was in berlin, in western Berlin. Western Berlin was more or less like Ashraf Camp in the middle of the Communist world. And from Berlin this politician, this great man declared his very famous expression, ich bein Berliner. I am a Berliner. And in the name of all my friends in Albania I have come here to say “I am a MEK”.
The other words I know are not important. I’m a politician, I know to make good speeches, but I think what I said you understand me very well. I have a dream to come soon in Tehran invited by you. Thank you very much.
